Poursuite du travail de promotion du nouveau portail de The Weed Files, avec quelques corrections de bogues et un début de développement d'une section de ressources pour briser la monotonie.

Une semaine poligrafique pour le moins incrémentale : "The Boulder Pecker" prend forme, "VROOOM VROOOM" gronde à souhaits et est presque déjà suffisamment solide pour être présentable, quelques ajustements ont été apportés à "The Idler" qui a presque reçu sa certification officielle des membres du band, et premières approches vers "Between Worlds". Nous avons discuté de la présentation d'une éventuelle avant-première qui se déroulerait ici-même, et j'ai même commencé à évaluer la possibilité de déplacer le matériel au rez-de-chaussée pour l'occasion. Si tout se déroule comme prévu en cette fin de session, le travail se poursuit la semaine prochaine.

Bilan de la première semaine des éliminatoires : les Nordiks se sont inclinés 3 à 2 en fusillade au terme d'une rencontre qui aurait pu être disputée avec plus d'intensité, et les Skywalkers ont vaincu le Groupe Investors 7 à 2 malgré un alignement particulièrement réduit et un désavantage numérique d'une joueuse pour la majeure partie de la première demie. Les premiers matchs ne servant qu'à déterminer les adversaires pour la deuxième ronde, les deux équipes poursuivent leurs activités la semaine prochaine.

They called it a "mirror neuron", because of its ability to mirror the activity of those around it. The neurons were firing not only when the monkey itself performed an action, but when it watched an experimenter perform it as well. So, even when the monkey was completely still, and did nothing but watch someone else pick up a peanut, its brain fired as though it were picking up the peanut itself. And that got researchers wondering if this could be the key to our exquisite mind-reading abilities.

The discovery of mirror neurons in the frontal lobes of monkeys, and their potential relevance to human brain evolution - which I speculate on in this essay - is the single most important "unreported" (or at least, unpublicized) story of the decade. I predict that mirror neurons will do for psychology what DNA did for biology: they will provide a unifying framework and help explain a host of mental abilities that have hitherto remained mysterious and inaccessible to experiments.
