Residents of Sainte-Foy were in a state of deep shock Saturday night as a municipal emergency team was sent on D'Amours avenue to sort out the remains of members of a local rock band after what is clearly one of the most bizarre event in the recorded history of the small suburb, one of Québec City's most peaceful.

At the time of going to press, little was known as to what could have caused each individual member of the promising band to spontaneously burst into flames and explode during what was supposed to be another uneventful night of recording. Besides the remains of the members themselves, the only clues left are the mind-boggling snapshots taken by studio cameras that were running at the time of the incident.

"At one point, one man ran out of the house with his head on fire screaming 'Where is my Strat? Where is my Strat? Is my Strat ok?,' before ending his mad rush in a snow bank," said one witness. "Kids were crying, dogs were barking, people were talking among themselves to find an explanation for such an uncanny occurrence," added another. "The smell coming out of the house was unbearable," a third man reported.

Inside the house, traces of the puzzling event were everywhere to be found. Parts of the main studio room walls and ceiling were covered with burned flesh and dried blood, while various body parts and internal organs were spread on the floor. Musical instruments, some blown into pieces by the sheer force of the explosions, were also scattered around.

Speculation was running high among investigators and medical examiners present at the scene, but most were agreeing that internal tensions between band members was the most probable cause of the macabre happening. A municipal police spokesperson has confirmed that an investigation is already underway.
