What is Weed?

Weed is a legal digital music download service that respects artists' rights and encourages file sharing.
Files in Weed format can be played three times for free; after that, the recipient is invited to purchase them.
A portion of each purchase is paid to file sharers as an incentive to respect artists' rights.

How does it work?
|
|
|
- You can play a Weed file up to three times for free on any PC (Mac support is coming soon). After three free plays, you're asked to pay for the file.
- When you play a file, you will first see a dialog box with information about your free plays and an option to buy the song. Click on Buy and log in to your Weed account. That's it!
- Weed files are made to be shared. When you buy a file, money is shared with a few different people: the artist always receives 50% of each sale, and the rest goes to those who helped distribute the file.
